R.I.P. – Friends of the San Marcos Cemetery board member Betty Wolverton shows one of the unique trophies that she has been making every year for the organization’s annual From Here to Eternity 5-K Walk/Run, scheduled Saturday, October 25, 2008. The trophies are miniature tombstones made of cast concrete, poured into molds made from venetian blind slats. She “invented” the trophies after exploring the cost of trophies five years ago. Danny Ortega of Corridor Awards contributes the plates that go on the tombstones. For information on the run, call Carmen Imel at 754-0490.Email | Print
