Costume Party Dance for Adults with Disabilities: Friday, October 3, 2008

50+ Vegetarian Luncheon: Thursday, October 9, 2008

Scrappy Hour Thursday, October 9, 2008

Hey scrap bookers, come meet with friends, make new friends, and learn a little about scrap booking. Just bring your pictures, your supplies, and your creativeness. You can exchange ideas with others and learn some things to make your scrapbook even better. We will have scissors, stencil, punches and a few other accessories available for use. We will also provide some refreshments. This program meets twice each month from 7:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. This activity is FREE and FUN for all ages! San Marcos Activity Center. 393-8400.

Boot Scootin’ Ball: NEW DATE!!! Friday, October 10, 2008

Howdy ya’ll!! Put on your cowboy hats and favorite dancin’ shoes and scoot on over to the Activity Center on October 10, 2008 for our Boot Scootin’ Ball! Tickets are available for purchase and they are $16/person if you purchase them before Sep 29. After that, they are $18.00. Tickets will be sold up until the October 6th. The dance starts at 6, the catered meal is at 7 and then you can dance the night away to a variety of music! We will be done at 10 PM. The ball is for ages 50 and up. Farmer Fred’s Fall Harvest Carnival: Saturday, October 25, 2008

From 6:00 – 9:00 PM at the City Park Recreation Hall. Admission is free, all ages are welcome. FREE activities include: carnival games with prizes & candy, Nancy Drew on the big screen and a costume contest. Registration for the age grouped costume contest will be from 6:00-6:45 PM and it will begin at 7:00 PM. The Haunted House is $1.00 the barrel train ride & glow necklaces are $2. Travel Group – Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs: Tuesday October 7, 2008

Join us as we head to Dallas for a day! We will leave the Activity Center at 7:45 AM. In Dallas, we will be going to eat at Avanti, a wonderful restaurant in downtown Dallas. This meal is included in the trip cost! This includes a drink, salad, and your choice of the Club Sandwich, Turkey Panini or 3 cheese Spinach Lasagna. After we eat at Avanti, we will head to the Dallas Museum of Art to see King Tutankhamun! Since the discovery of his tomb in 1922, Tutankhamun has captured the hearts of people around the world. Buried with him were treasures beyond the imagination, a tomb holding the most magnificent treasures of the Golden Age of the Pharaohs and giving us a glittering glimpse into the past. Now, his treasures are back-and we will get to see them! We will leave at 3:00 from the museum and will stop in temple on the way home for dinner on your own. Travel Group – Tuna Does Vegas – Majestic Theatre: Saturday November 15, 2008

On Saturday November 15, 2008 we will travel to San Antonio to the Majestic Theatre to watch the comedy – “Tuna Does Vegas.” It stars the dynamic duo, Jaston Williams and Joe Sears, your favorite citizens of the “Third Smallest Town in Texas”. This is their first new show in 10 years. This show takes your favorites from Tuna, Texas to sin city and what happens in Vegas won’t stay in Vegas this time! This show is very popular, so buy your tickets early! We will leave the Activity Center a1 12:30 PM, the show begins at 2 and we will arrive back at the Activity center around 5:30 PM. Tickets are $60 / person and include round-trip transportation and a ticket to the show. Purchase your tickets starting September 15, 2008 and before November 7, 2008. Travel Group – Winter Shopping in Fredericksburg: Tuesday December 9, 2008

Join us as we do our annual winter shopping trip. This year, we will head to Fredericksburg on December 9, 2008. We will leave the Activity Center at 12 Noon – make sure you eat lunch before you come. We will arrive in Fredericksburg around 2 and you will be on your own for shopping and eating dinner. We will load the bus up at 6:00 PM and travel to Johnson City to see the wonderful light displays they have there. We will arrive back in San Marcos around 8:00 PM. Reserve your seat early because this trip is only $5 / person and it will fill up fast. Registration begins October 20 and will end November 26. Travel Group – Schulenburg Painted Churches Tour: Tuesday January 13, 2009

Come witness the beautiful painted churches in Schulenburg, Texas! On January 13, 2009 we will travel to Schulenburg at 8 AM. We will pick up a tour guide and head out into the rolling hills of southeast Fayette County to view the beautifully painted churches of Ammannsville, Dubina, High Hill and Praha. These churches have some of the most beautiful painted artwork and stained glass you will ever see. They are truly amazing. Time will be allotted for lunch and it will be on your own. We will finish touring the churches around 2:30 PM and will arrive back in San Marcos at 4 PM. Trip cost is $32.00 / person and this includes round trip transportation and your tour. Registration begins December 1, 2008 and will go until January 5, 2009. This trip will fill up fast!!!
