The San Marcos police department and city marshal’s office, with the cooperation of municipal court, will conduct a Fall Warrant Round-up starting Sept. 22.
Local area law enforcement officers will seek out and arrest people wanted for failure to comply with court orders and failure to appear at court to address charges filed against them.
The Municipal Court web site has an updated list of 9,760 defendants with outstanding warrants in San Marcos.
Defendants are urged to contact the court immediately to make payment arrangements. For those defendants unable to meet payment guidelines, the court will hold special warrant docket sessions on Wednesday, September 17, from 5-8 p.m. and Friday, September19, from 9-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. to allow defendants to come in without an appointment to see the judge.
The court is located on the second floor of the Municipal Building, 630 E. Hopkins, San Marcos. The customer service window is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended hours on Wednesday until 8 p.m.
The Municipal Court accepts cash, checks, money orders, cashier’s checks, Visa, Master Card and Discover. Those who mail in payments should include their driver’s license number and case or ticket number to ensure proper credit. Payments may be mailed to Municipal Court, City of San Marcos, 630 E.
