A 21-year old Austin man was killed late Wednesday in a three-vehicle wreck on Interstate 35 involving two motorcycles and an automobile.
Zachary Glenn Wilcox was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Margie Hernandez following the 10:21 p.m. collision near the 208 mile marker on northbound I-35. She has ordered an autopsy.
According to the preliminary investigation, Wilcox was driving a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle in a group of motorcycle riders when he apparently rear-ended a Nissan Pathfinder driven by Martin Palma, age 43, of Dallas.
A second motorcycle driven by Ricardo Ortega, age 24, of Buda collided with the driver’s side door of the Pathfinder. The car went out of control and struck concrete barriers, rolled over and came to rest in the center of the interstate.
Ortega was taken to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin while Palma was taken to Central Texas Medical Center for treatment of injuries. San Marcos police continue their investigation into the fatality.Email | Print
