The City of San Marcos has lifted a boil water notice put into effect Wednesday night through noon Friday after a major water main break interrupted water service to about a quarter of the community.
Lab tests of water samples in the affected area of the water system came back clear.
San Marcos water utility crews continue repairs on a 12-inch water main located near Willow Creek and the east frontage road of I-35.
Residents in the southeastern quadrant of San Marcos lost water or experienced reduced pressure when the break occurred about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Crews isolated the pipeline about 9:45 p.m. and restored service to all customers by 11 p.m. Wednesday.
