City of Kyle Blog: Kyle Kudas advance six to state swim meet

KYLE – The City of Kyle Barracuda swim team participated in the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) Region 3 Swim Meet last weekend, qualifying six swimmers for the state meet later this month.
 

 

 

The Kudas participated in dual meets since June 7 leading up to the TAAF Region 3 Swim Meet in Burnet.

Out of 18 team members, 13 participated in the region meet and six qualified to move on to the TAAF State Swim Meet. The TAAF State Swim Meet is part of the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation’s State Games of Texas, which is the largest gathering of amateur athletes in the state. The meet will take place July 26-27 at Palo Alto College in San Antonio.

 

The six Kudas going on to the state meet are Daniel Benjamin, (8 year-olds, 25-yard breast stroke, 28.08 seconds), Barry Florendo, (17 year-olds, 50-yard, butterfly, 28.81 seconds) and an 18-over men’s relay team made up of Jordi Levine (47) William Miller (44), Josh Moreno (18) and Phil Halberdier (26), (1:58.69).

 

The Kyle Barracudas practice at Kyle Pool Monday through Thursday from 7-8 p.m. through Aug. 31 and are looking to increase their numbers. If you wish to join sign up at www.kylepard.com or come by City Hall on the second floor in the park and recreation office.
