Consider yourself invited to OLIVER! Consider yourself one of the family.

The San Marcos Performing Arts join over 25 area children and 13-year-old Abby Bowers in the title role. The musical adventures of a spunky orphan will enchant the audience. This delightful, humorous adaptation includes the best talent of our area.

One of the greatest musicals of all time, “Oliver” won three Tony awards when it appeared on stage over 40 years ago. Featuring musical classics such as “Food, Glorious Food,” “I’d Do Anything,” “Where is Love?,” “Consider Yourself,” “As Long As He Needs Me,” and “Who Will Buy,” this show continues to captivate children and adults alike.

OLIVER! A musical adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic novel Oliver Twist is the moving tale of an orphan boy who escapes from the orphanage only to end up in the company of pick pockets. When Oliver has a chance to live a good life, love and hate battle as Sykes and his girlfriend, Nancy, have different ideas for the young boy. Dickens’ characters are always larger-than-life, and the musical captures his unforgettable creations.

The stage will be filled with excellent choreography and will include dancing by an ensemble of gifted adults and children. The talented crew will provide a lasting memory. Christopher Morales plays the villainous Bill Sykes, and is joined by Rick Bowen, as Fagin. Sydni Kipp as Nancy, and Ben Mayne brings to life The Artful Dodger. An SMPAA favorite, Leo Garcia plays Mr. Bumble.

Sarah Flemming-Walker takes on directing duties for this production. Helen Miers is the Musical Director and Andrea Haeberlin artfully choreographs the musical.

San Marcos Performing Arts Association (SMPAA) is celebrating 22 years of musical productions. The San Marcos Performing Arts Association wishes to inspire both young and not-so-young to enjoy stage presentations for many years to come.

OLIVER! Opens Friday night July 11 at 7:30, Saturday July 12 at 2:30 and 7:30 and Sunday July 13 at 2:30.
