Texas State tees up with Texas Roadhouse to feed troops

The Texas State Athletic Department will participate in a charity golf tournament June 24 hosted by Texas Roadhouse. The tournament will be held at The Bandit Golf Club in New Braunfels, Texas to raise money to feed the troops in Iraq. All proceeds from the event will help cover the food and transportation cost associated with feeding 5,000 Marines a Texas Roadhouse steak dinner.

Representatives from Texas State Athletics will play in the tournament, and the Department will also sponsor a hole.

“Giving back to those who make sacrifices for our nation is important to our department. We also want to take this opportunity to support Texas Roadhouse who is one of our corporate partners. Our corporate partners are a big part of our continued success and we want to support our partners as much as possible,” stated Bryan Miller, Director of Athletic Marketing and Promotions.

The initiative began when Texas Roadhouse sent peanuts to the troops earlier this year. After that was a success, the restaurant decided they wanted to give the troops something greater and provide a full meal.
