Texas State’s Christine Brijalba Named To Southland Conference Women’s Golf All-Academic Golf Team
FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference Office announced that Texas State’s Christine Brijalba has been selected to the league’s 2007-08 All-Academic Team for women’s golf.
A junior from El Paso, Brijalba helped the Bobcats win their second Southland Conference championship in school history with a 16th-place finish at the SLC Tournament. She played in seven tournaments overall for Texas State and had an overall average of 79.2 in 17 rounds of play. Brijalba also was Texas State’s second-best finisher at the NCAA Division I Regional Championships in Austin when she tied for 55th place at the NCAA Division I Central Regional in Austin.
Brijalba, who has a 3.20 cumulative grade point average in psychology and has a minor in mass communications, was joined on the All-Academic team by Jennifer Heinz of Sam Houston State, Rebecca Sorensen of Central Arkansas, along with Therese Nilsson and Hillary Zeigler of Lamar.
