CONTRIBUTIONS TO EDUCATION: The San Marcos City Council honors retiring San Marcos CISD School Trustee Lupe Costilla who served on the board since 1993, including four years as president. Costilla helped lead the district through major bond elections to rebuild aging district schools and construct a new high school and focused on closing the gap in performance among student groups and disadvantaged children. She received a proclamation in her honor and the key to the City for her dedicated efforts.
