From the San Marcos school district

San Marcos CISD choral director Helen Miers has announced that four high school students have received choir scholarships from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La., for a combined total of $116,000. One of the four also received a $4,000 scholarship from Texas State University, bringing the total to $120,000.

The students are:

  • Sarah Tunnell of PRIDE High School — $28,800
  • Geoffrey Hollis of San Marcos High School — $30,000
  • Aaron Eger of San Marcos High School — $27,200
  • Phillip Burleigh of San Marcos High School — $30,000 (also received the $4,000 scholarship from Texas State).
