Six San Marcos High School students represented their campus at the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) State Convention that was held in Frisco, Texas on March 27-29, 2008. The convention’s theme was “Raising the Bar” this year. Angelica Prado, serving as the State Secretary of the organization, assisted fellow state officers in leading the general sessions.

Local members in attendance were:
Joseph Halfmann
Jima Netters
Angelica Prado
Marcos Cardoso
Stacey Camacho

Participants listened to guest speakers and participated in breakout sessions. SMHS teacher and sponsor Dana Hutnyak said, “Marcos proved invaluable as the camera operator for the conference, and Joseph assisted with the sound board. Xavia, Kimia, and Stacey collected and counted ballots to determine the theme for next year’s conference. All San Marcos High School delegates really “raised the bar” through their leadership at the conference.”
