San Marcos CISD had an delightful surprise when members of the Texas State University Order of Omega stopped by on Thursday, April 10, to deliver box loads of school supplies. The Order of Omega is a Greek Honor Society at the university made up of members of several fraternities and sororities who are eligible due to their GPA and leadership skills. Representing the Order of Omega on Thursday were Jordan Johnson (Phi Delta Theta), Russ Garcia (Sigma Chi), and Scott Fournier (Sigma Nu) who are all presidents or vice presidents of their organizations.

SMCISD quickly contacted campuses to come pick up the supplies early Friday morning in order to get the materials to students as soon as possible. Superintendent Dr. Patty Shafer said, “These supplies couldn’t have come at a better time. Towards the end of the semester, we are often running low at the campus level, but we still have almost two months to go. So these supplies are most welcome. We really appreciate the Texas State students who took on this challenge. They literally filled up the boardroom with supplies.”
