From the city of San Marcos

San Marcos police arrested two suspects early Saturday for burglary of a building and unlawful use of a criminal instrument following break-ins at two stores.

Jailed at the Hays County Law Enforcement Center under $7,500 bond are Brian Lynn Castano and John Anthony Amador, both age 21, of Del Valle. Police responded to a burglar alarm at the Sony Store at Prime Outlets after midnight early Saturday and shortly afterward answered an alarm at the Sear’s Store on I-35.

Police then stopped a suspicious pickup truck traveling north on I-35 and found property and evidence, including a 40-inch television believed to have been stolen from the Sear’s store.

According to Sgt. Dave Waugh, police also found evidence from other possible burglaries. The investigation is continuing into the case.
