Three San Antonio men are in custody following an armed robbery early Monday at the Whataburger, 4040 South I 35, during which one suspect fired a handgun, shattering a glass door.

No one was injured during the incident that occurred around 1:25 a.m. Monday. The three suspects, all San Antonio residents, were caught in New Braunfels by New Braunfels Police and arrested.

Jailed at the Hays County Law Enforcement Center under bonds ranging from $100,000 to $130,000 are:

• Joseph Allen Anderson, 19, bond set at $130,000

• Lance Edward Turner, 19, bond set at $100,000

• Brent Andrew Reum, 20, bond set at $100,000

Police said two men approached the locked door of the restaurant. One man fired a shot from a handgun, shattering the glass. One of the suspects entered the store, pointed the firearm at an employee and demanded money. An undetermined amount of money was taken from a cash register, police said.

The two suspects then left the restaurant and got into a maroon four door vehicle and drove south on I-35.

New Braunfels police located the vehicle and pulled it over in the parking lot of the New Braunfels Police Department. They recovered a handgun and arrested the three suspects and transported them to the Hays County Law Enforcement Center.
