Pet Prevent a Litter (PALS) of Central Texas will be at Tantra Coffeehouse, located at 217 East Hopkins in San Marcos, on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to promote their upcoming Spay Day event. PALS volunteers will provide spay and neuter educational materials and encourage the public to have their companion animals sterilized. In addition, Wimberley based ARF (Animal Referral Friends) will be present with adoptable animals. All pet enthusiasts are welcome to attend.
Spay Day is Tuesday, February 26 and in celebration of the occasion, PALS is sponsoring free spay and neuter surgeries throughout the week of February 25-29 for those in need. It is anticipated that over 150 cats and dogs will be fixed due to the financial support provided by the organization.
Appointments for both cats and dogs will be accepted for the Lockhart clinic, which is to be held on Monday, February 25. The San Marcos clinic, to be held on Wednesday, Feb. 27, will be solely for cats. For those interested in either date, please contact EmanciPET for an appointment at 512-587-7729.
Additional sterilization of dogs will be performed throughout the week at various Hays County veterinarian offices. In addition to the surgery, participating vets will also provide vaccinations, deworming, and a heartworm test. To make an appointment, please call PALS at 512-754-PALS (7257).
Please join PALS in their mission to help end pet overpopulation. Members, volunteers, donors, and sponsors are always needed to finance and organize fundraising and spay/neuter events.
