EDITOR’S NOTE: Now with working video! 1:17 p.m. Feb. 9
You can juggle. Balls, pins, random objects, torches. With one or two hands, up to eight objects (the world record). If this is true, you should attend the meetings of the San Martian juggling club at Tantra Coffeehouse on Wednesdays at 7 pm, to lend your expertise to others and/or to learn some new tricks.
If this is not true (yet), you should attend these meetings, hosted by local performance artist Marcus Garland, to learn the fundamentals of this important, albeit overlooked, life skill.
Should mere juggling become tedious, you could always rally up a couple jugglers to help you learn to ride one of the several unicycles donated by the generous fellows at the Bike Cave. Although challenging to learn, unicycling is a skill which pays off tenfold in style points, while freeing cyclers from the hinderances of the bulky bicycle frame and second wheel.
If you’re interested in these, or any other circus-like practises (excluding miming, which is mocked unabashedly by club members), head out to the Tantra Coffeehouse at 217 Hopkins, across from the little HEB, around 7 pm this, or any, Wednesday. The meeting is free of charge, and has a friendly, casual atmosphere.
