Motorcyclist strikes SUV in downtown mishap

From staff reports

A motorcyclist is expected to recover from “non-incapacitating injuries” sustained yesterday when a vehicle pulled out in front of him downtown.

Riding a 1993 Suzuki bike, Michael Cole, 22, was traveling west on Hopkins Street when he pulled out in front of a sports utility vehicle attempting to turn left on Hopkins from a one-way alley near Guadalupe Street, Sgt. David Waugh said. Cole was unable to stop and struck the vehicle, Waugh said. Cole was taken by ambulance to Central Texas Medical Center at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Cole was not at the hospital Wednesday afternoon, a hospital spokesperson said. Medical privacy law prohibits hospitals from releasing information about patients without their consent.

No citations were issued to either driver, Waugh said.
