Free enterprise team partners with Dell for Project: Green Earth

From Texas State University News Service

Texas State University’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team has partnered with Dell, Inc., on a global going green effort entitled, “Project: Green Earth.” The purpose of the project is to raise awareness about the ethical treatment of the environment, specifically computer waste in landfills.

Approximately 1,800 SIFE schools worldwide will participate with Texas State SIFE in learning about how to preserve our beautiful planet. The Texas State SIFE team has created a “Green Earth” quiz, green facts and tips for preserving the earth. The schools answering the “Green Earth” questions correctly will be entered into a drawing to win a brand new Dell, Inc., notebook computer for their team. Two U.S. teams and two international teams will be selected as winners and announced at regional competition to be held in Dallas this March.

SIFE is a not-for-profit organization supported by individuals, foundations, and corporations whose mission is to build collegiate SIFE Teams who teach free enterprise in order to better individuals, communities, and countries. SIFE’s purpose is accomplished through the SIFE Team’s outreach projects where students and faculty involve the community in the free enterprise system, providing the students with an opportunity to teach others what they have learned.

The SIFE members in charge of Project: Green Earth includes Melissa Culbertson, Justin Sansom, William Payne, Bill Fritz, Tiffany Elmer, Rian Beaudoin, Erica Paul, Courtnee Brathwaite, Tom Barnett and Jessica Bassett.

For information, contact Angela Bertero, immediate past president of Texas State SIFE, at or call (512) 245-3224. The Texas State SIFE website can be found at
