REBECCA CONLEY BLOG: 62nd Annual Noon Lions Mexican Dinner

62nd Annual Noon Lions Club Mexican Dinner

The San Marcos Noon Lions Club invites the surrounding communities to celebrate the 62nd Annual Mexican Dinner on Friday February 1, 2008 at the San Marcos City Park Pavilion, located behind the San Marcos Lions Club Tube Rental. Come join us for lunch or dinner between 11AM and 7PM Friday. For directions, visit our website at tubesanmarcos.com

Everyone enjoys a traditional Tex-Mex meal, especially when it only costs $5 a plate. Your friendly Lions will serve up Tamales with Chili, Spanish Rice, Pinto Beans, Tortillas, Ice Tea and our famous Guacamole Salad prepared by Lion Dr. Galvan and his wife. Chef Thompson and the students of the Gary Job Corp Culinary Arts Department at Gary Job Corps generously prepare the bulk of the meal. The Hope Students from Gary Job Corp also serve you with a smile at our take-out table and ice tea table; just let them know what you need.

All proceeds from the Lions Mexican Dinner and the Lions Tube Rental go directly and completely back into the community. The San Marcos Noon Lions Club gives generously to local organizations and events that improve the quality of life for local residents in San Marcos and Hays County, everything from youth sports and the river to abuse centers and the food bank. In addition, San Marcos Lions serve in other parts of the world through the Texas Eye Glass Recycling Center and the Lone Star Eye Bank. Many of our Lions have traveled to other countries giving the gift of clear sight to those who could not afford the luxury of eyeglasses. The Noon Lions gives special recognition to local high school students through student of the week and scholarships to seniors.

As Lions, our motto is “to serve”, and we try to serve our community in every way we can. So let us serve you Mexican Food Friday February 1 and visit with community leaders, friends and neighbors for only $5. For more information or tickets, call Lion Zeke at 512-738-1690.
