Antonio Parra Sr., a resident of Martindale, went peacefully to his eternal rest to be with our Heavenly Father on Jan. 11, 2008 at the age of 78.
Born June 28, 1929 in Martindale, a beloved father, grandfather and brother, he is preceded in death by his parents Tomas Sr. and Ramona Parra and sisters Dolores Castillo and Catalina Juarez. Antonio loved his church of Immaculate Heart of Mary and was a Eucharist Minister, Knights of Columbus and member of Cristo Rey Organization.
He left many precious memories of his life that will truly be cherished by those who survive him. Survivors are his wife of 45 years Elvira S. Parra of Martindale; son Tony Parra and wife Raquel of San Marcos; daughters Eva Parra of Martindale and Mary P. Martinez and husband Leo and Lucy P. Mosqueda and husband Jason, all of Kyle; brothers Tomas Parra Jr. and wife Elena, Jesse Parra and wife Carmen and Enrique Parra and wife Petra, all of Lockhart, and Frank Parra and wife Herlinda, Juan Parra and wife Janie and Margarito Parra and wife Otilia, all of Martindale; grandchildren Paul A. Martinez and John M. Martinez, both of Kyle; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Los Angeles Funeral Home. Recitation of Rosary will be at 7 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Martindale. Deacon Jesse Martinez will officiate. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Rev. Father Ignacio Blanco, CMF, will officiate.
