Apply Now for the 2008 Envision Central Texas Community Stewardship Awards!

The ECT Community Stewardship Awards program has been created to recognize and honor the innovative people, projects and processes that are addressing the growth challenges facing our region in ways that will move us closer to a vision for our future that preserves and enhances our natural resources, economic vitality, social equity, and overall quality of living.

Local non-profit and community organizations, businesses, cities, counties, regional planning authorities, developers, builders, designers, media, neighborhood groups and others based in the five-county Central Texas region are invited to submit online applications for the Third Annual ECT Community Stewardship Awards. Share with the rest of Central Texas how your favorite initiative is positively shaping the region’s future.

This event brings hundreds of business, government, education, environmental and civic leaders from across the five-county Central Texas together to celebrate our region’s successes. Winners representing five award categories will be selected by a jury made up of recognized experts from around the country. Their decisions will be based on how the projects exemplify or reflect some or all of the seven elements of the ECT Vision for the region. The presentation of the W. Neal Kocurek Legacy Award will be a special highlight of the event. ECT will also unveil the results of a five-month study on the growth of the region over the past five years and how it has or has not aligned with the principles of the Vision. Be among the first to hear what critical steps must be taken for Central Texas to become the most liveable region in the country.

Becoming a sponsor is a great way for you to support ECT and its efforts to preserve and enhance the region’s quality of life for generations to come. Individual tickets are $65 and sponsor tables range from $700 to $5000.

Recognizes developments that are constructed on previously undeveloped sites and successfully implement the ECT Vision.

Redevelopment: Recognizes developments that re-use existing structures or sites and successfully exemplify the ECT Vision.

Recognizes an individual, company, organization or governmental entity that has left familiar territory and taken a different path that reflects the ECT Vision.

Public Planning and Policy:
Recognizes an organization or governmental entity for implementing a program or policy that facilitates and promotes the ECT Vision.

Raising Public Awareness:
Recognizes an organization (and/or individual) for educating the public or raising awareness of the ECT Vision or its principles.

W. Neal Kocurek Legacy Award: Recognizes an individual who models the collaborative leadership style of Neal.
